The Mod's Most Wanted Bump Tunes
« on: July 25, 2008, 02:21:56 AM »

Hey guys, you know we strive hard to have the most complete music listings available out there, but we're also surrounded by a lot of stuff. We also know that some of you have helped us find out a lot of tunes in the past, so here we ask for a bit of your help, if you could provide us with it. This list will contain the most sought after tunes by our staff that haven't been found yet. Even though we're looking for them, your help could be very useful, as it has been before, so we decided to ask since we know a lot of you cooperate in helping us build a better bump database. Don't you think this should get Sticky?

Sorry if I turn out to be not much of help, but I'm not as super-sleuthy as the rest of the members on this board. I'm just here as entertainment by providing a bump or two every 3 months.

Noooooo!!!  Don't delete this thread.  There's just not any activity in it because of the fact that no one can find these.  I think that this should be a memorial thread.  A kind of "We will not forget you Unknown bumps" monument thread.  While I'm here, could you add "The Best Things Are Collective" to my list, Mongo?  Ever since you posted this thread, I've anxiously been awaiting a list by N.M.  It would be interesting to see N.M.'s choices.  Not to mention the mighty Mr. C.'s list.  Mr. H. too.  I've been checking every five minutes but nothing ever pops up.  I guess that N.M. is just too cool for this thread. 8-)  I mean, it's not like N.M. ever gets busy helping to run this site or knows anyone one over at the ASMB.  So, I don't know what Numy does with all that free time.

I'll post my list soon.. it's not very impressive though  :-)   I love a lot of the music, but I've come to accept the fact that many of them will never be found.

Ok here you go.  I'll edit this post out whenever you update the first post:

1. Inuyasha - Fences
http://www.bumpworthy.com/bumps/207
2. Television Story
http://www.bumpworthy.com/bumps/683
3. Size Chart
http://www.bumpworthy.com/bumps/783

Only other one I have really wanted to know was the song used on the Cowboy Bebop "Funk Promo - WakkaChooka" over at ASFdotcom.  I think that song was what led me to the ASMB in the first place  :-).

The stuff on my list is comprised of tracks that I cringe when I hear because I know I'm going to get a bunch of requests that I can't answer :(

 okay, got it! By the way, All The Best Things Are Collectives ran last night again  :-o. I love that bump! Actually a few older ones ran, it was very cool to see them again (Crane, Atom Bomb, Collectives, Making Your Future, Open Wide to Swim and the usual Now in Lush Color and The Dawn is Your Enemy). I hope some of the older ones make a resurrection! I capped them, will maybe remaster some later if it's cool. By the way, kinda out of topic but everyone should check out the Hydeout Productions Second Collection! It's amazing, sounds like golden era [as] music.

Said this before and I'll say it again because the beat is so dirty, but this :10 sample just blows my mind. Although relatively new, it has to be considered on the Most Wanted Bump Tunes....................... jus sayin...

I've actually been after that one for quite a while... assuming it is in fact the same song as the first half of this old bump: http://www.bumpworthy.com/bumps/287 and I'm reasonably sure that wasn't the first time we heard it. The timing has me convinced it's a library track.

I can definitely see the similarities between the two, but the bump clip never came up. It's not a bad start, but I'd be careful about making sure the clip in the bump is found in the song. Don't worry about it, it's always exciting to find bump info, so it's easy to jump too far ahead  :-D.

For Ryan D.'s list, I have found

5. Winter Killing Us: My Own New York by Waiting for Steve
i.e.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppBti5ObuO4 - Skip to 7:20

6. So Close To Over: Caught by Brittany Tremble
i.e.  http://amzn.com/B0059SZP8K

For Mango's list, SoundHound is telling me it found for that it is Ella, Elle I'A (Angleterre Remix) for 2. Size Chart.  Although I am not completely certain that it is since I can not find evidence that it is

i.e.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppBti5ObuO4 - Skip to 7:20

It actually kicks in right at 7:00... It's close enough that I will make a note in the description but I do not believe it is the source. We have a number of bumps where we have found alternate songs that have sampled the same source. In this case, I believe the bump track is a library track because I heard it playing on a DVD sub-menu years ago. The track you have linked to was released three years after the bump aired. However, it does have more to it than the bump and is worth a listen if it's a track one has been after. I rather like the entire composition, thanks for the link :)

6. So Close To Over: Caught by Brittany Tremble
i.e.  http://amzn.com/B0059SZP8K

I don't think so. This really sounds like a misappropriated sample right from the bump, which is not the first time we've run across this sort of thing. It only uses five seconds from the beginning of the bump, then replays the last chord, but never plays the last ten seconds of the bump. The track actually in the bump was produced in-house and is not available anywhere.

For Mango's list, SoundHound is telling me it found for that it is Ella, Elle I'A (Angleterre Remix) for 2. Size Chart.  Although I am not completely certain that it is since I can not find evidence that it is

I found it on VibeCloud (you've typed an upper case ' i ' where a lower case ' L' should be in " l'A ") Unfortunately it is not the correct track.
