I am looking for this bump that aired 11/22/14. I only have a vine for it. https://vine.co/v/O1aZxAIv55i

Okay I was on /mu/ (4chan's music board) last night for quite some time trying to get the sauce on this song. Apparently it might me something by Flying Lotus.

Thanks, I appreciate you posting back :-) This is not an exact match but it is clearly related. It seems we have two possibilities here: One is, assuming this is entirely original work, that the bump track is a precursor to the "Turtles" track that was released, a 'work in progress' if you will. The other is that the bump track is a sample source (this has happened multiple times.) Given the nature of Flying Lotus' relationship with AS the first option is entirely plausible.

Did you find this yourself or is there some discussion of it elsewhere that I can peek in on?

In the past there was one instance in particular that I was absolutely certain a bump track HAD to be Flying Lotus based on a known track that was too similar for it to be a coincidence... and it turned out to be Malcom Kipe. Sooo... it happens

Many thanks :D And I did find this myself. Credit goes to that Anon over on 4chan who mention flying lotus. I got curious after listing to one of his songs and went on to listing to all of his work to see if I could find it. I didn't listen to everything since I found this one fairly soon. Ill continue to listen to all of his work and see if I find it :D

Edit: Im not sure if it is a WIP because the bump aired November 2014 while the album "You're Dead!" was released  October 7 2014

Couple things to consider... the bump was probably completed before April of 2014 with the rest of the tagged bumps, and they just held a few seasonal bumps back to spring on us when the time was right. Take this bump for example: http://www.bumpworthy.com/bumps/8212 This one was made for the... criminey, when was the HD switch? Fall 2010? Anyway, Dave Hughes made a good chunk (if not all) of that batch of original HD bumps. I spotted it in a compilation video that he posted online but none of us saw it air until those bumps were pulled and replaced with the tagged bumps, except for the 4am DVR theater slot where they continued to show the old motif bumps for awhile and that's where we caught it.

The other thing is Flying Lotus does provide them with unreleased tracks. Whether or not he refines them (or leaves them as is) and releases them later is another story. One that I find particularly annoying is this track http://www.bumpworthy.com/bumps/5314 that he gave someone to rap over but decided not to release the instrumental on his own album (notice it's not on the list of music in the bump.)

Kudos for doing the legwork (earwork?)   I did a lot of that in the old days and I just don't have the time anymore. If you're kinda new to Flying Lotus you might wanna take a look at this thread I started years ago: http://www.bumpworthy.com/forum/index.php/topic,707.0.html
It hasn't been updated in awhile but the OP will show you kinda what we're dealing with, and if you read through it you'll see the kinds of places we had to look for stuff. You may not know this but Adult Swim was really his big breakthrough moment back in 2006.
