Title: More Bump Listings?
Post by: Anonymous on June 06, 2015, 07:24:53 PM
Is there a website anywhere that has more of the bump listings like the two threads that are sticked?  I'm specifically looking for bumps used on the action block, but anything really will do.

If by action block you mean the current Toonami, Beefy has been keeping us up to day over here: http://www.bumpworthy.com/forum/index.php/topic,1591.msg11620.html#msg11620
I linked to the end of the thread, you can work your way back from there. They change it every couple of months.

Aha, yes, this is part of what I was looking for.  Thanks so much!

Do you know of any places that list it for the former action block?

As I recall... IF I recall correctly  ... the Saturday bumps just prior to the return of Toonami were just the (seemingly) randomly cycled bumps that were introduced during the first week of November 2010, and prior to that they were playing the exact same bumps they played during the previous week. AAaaannnnnd... prior to that was the cutout era? I think? One day, I WILL make that 'Evolution of the Bumps' timeline  :-D  :-D

Was there something in particular that you were looking for?

Also note that the bumpers for the action shows on weeknights were different than the bumpers for the action block on Saturdays for a while (2003-2004 I think).  This was back before action got banished to only airing on Saturdays.

No, nothing in particular.  Honestly I'm just really, really into the history of the old Adult Swim Action block (to the point that I made a document containing all the schedules and show airings for it), and I was just trying to find out some more information on the bumps that aired during the block.  I was toying with the idea of trying to put something together giving a timeline of the bumps that aired during the various incarnations of the action block.

Okay, great! I think you came to the right place  :-D I started another thread for bits & pieces to add to a timeline. If we can properly divide each set of packaging I think we can list a set of bumps for each era.

I suppose I should add, if you're really determined you can dig up listings done by MrHang at the ASMB from 2004 to early 2008. Unfortunately the search engine over there is seriously challenged, particularly for the posts from 2004 to mid 2005 due to "broken" threads.

This seems to be something I'd be interested in.  I think I'll check these out tomorrow, when I'm not so damn tired.  The search engine thing may be a problem, but I think I can get around that.

Yeah, you can use Google with the site specific thing. It's not a neat dedicated thread like we have here though, they're scattered across three threads. Two broken ones and one massive one, I think it was almost 10,000 posts.

Oh, well damn then.  I guess that was before ASMB started imposing the 5000 post limit for threads.  This might end up being a weekend job for me, it'll probably take me a good few hours or so to go through just that one thread, let alone three of them.

Sorry I'm posting in a thread that hasn't been posted in over a year but here are some old Saturday AcTN bump listings.  I'm doing this as the original ASMB has been taken down so the listings from there are gone.  Most of this is from either old recordings I found online (Internet Archive), old listings on the ASMB, or by memory.  These are from 2005 to 2008.  I stopped caring about the anime once they took it off weekdays. It's hard to watch anime once a week and be able to keep up.

I WILL NOT post Saturdays after May when they started using the Cutout bumps, the earliest listings on this site (before my posted listings) are from 2008.  I'm just putting ones that were not Sundays before 2008.  I never really paid attention or cared for Text bumps, Programming Schedule bumps, etc. , only the picture ones, especially the AcTN bumps.  If anyone has old recordings from 2005-2007 recordings with bumps, feel free to upload the listings if you have the chance.

No problem, I used to be able to find alot of them on the older adult swim boards site which has been replaced earlier this year.  I also have a good memory as to what i seen on adult swim as a kid.

I do remember 1 listing they had on the old asmb that had the listings to the bleach marathon on new years eve 2006 which just used regular saturday bumps.  They aired the intro bump of Eureka 7 before one bleach episode, then during another one they had the Samurai Cgamploo 2nd, 3rd , and 4th bump while the 1st bump was replaced by that bump with the 2 polar bears and a boat.  That Goodness Flowed in from all directions bump also came on constantly.  that list i can no longer find.  That would give me an idea as to what they used regularly back then as i never would fully get to watch as i would go to sleep early.

Most people dont have much recordings on the internet from 2005-2007 which sucks.  Most people have from 2004 and older such as when anime used custom black and white text bumps or those toonami style bumps with the robot voice which was before my [as] years of 2005-present.  What I wish to find is listings of when they used the earliest 15 second AcTN bumps like the bear in the forest, orange fun start soon now, come along friend, bull film reel, etc.  Those only aired a few months.

Oh trust me I know what you mean here.  2005 to 2007 was one of the best times of Action on Adult Swim.  I've been hunting around online for recording from this era, especially because I'm trying to find original Adult Swim recordings of Fullmetal Alchemist.  The fact that I can't find any of them is honestly really interesting, since I would have expected there to be a lot of recordings from this era online.

I wish i could find some recordings as well.  I found some on the internet archive like one of Case Closed and one of the full night where they gave Inuyasha movie 1 and 2.  There was also one of family guy which is good to see back when the 4:3 shows were shown properly and not stretched badly to fill the screen for hd.

Myspleen.org has a few recordings (still not very many), which is extremely unfortunate. Other than that, I agree with you guys, it would be awesome if there were more recordings on the web.

how can i get on there?
Title: Re: More Bump Listings?
Post by: Anonymous on November 06, 2016, 07:30:05 PM
You have to get an invite code from a premium user. Sadly I'm not one yet so I can't help you out there, but I can help you find where to get one. I got mine on Reddit here https://www.reddit.com/r/Invites/. I just waited for someone to post an offer and asked for it and they sent it to me. You may have luck making a seperate post asking for it, but those arent always successful. Heres a link to all the Myspleen offer posts. https://www.reddit.com/search?q=subreddit%3Ainvites+title%3A%5BO%5D+-title%3A%5BW%5D+title%3A%28myspleen+OR+ms%29&restrict_sr=&sort=new&t=all
Just make a reddit account (unless you already have one), and check there every couple days until someone posts an offer. You gotta act fast tho because a lot of people want invites to MS. A lot of them ask for "ratio proof", and I don't know what that means exactly, but when I got my invite they didn't ask me for it, so you may get lucky like me (also I said I was new to this so that might be why). Theres probably other places to get invites from but reddit was the easiest one I could find.

I want to try to share some of the recordings I've downloaded from there here, but I dont know how people there would feel about that, so I'm hesitating. Also theyre big files. If I do end up sharing them, it'll only be one or two.

What are some of the stuff on there? Do they have actn bumps from 2005-2007? Or Generic AS Bumps they used on Saturdays in 2006-2007 like these http://www.bumpworthy.com/bumps/2786 (http://www.bumpworthy.com/bumps/2786) ?  What shows?
Title: Re: More Bump Listings?

Most of the things on the adult swim section of site are newer shows like Eric Andre, Rick and Morty, etc, as well as really old shows like Space Ghost and streams from the adult swim website like Fish center stuff, and a few other random shows like ATHF etc. There are also recordings up on there (I would say like 5-10% of the adult swim part is recordings). Not a lot of AcTN, unfortunately, although there's like 700 pages of downloads up there so maybe I just haven't found any yet. I know one of them was of a night where they had an Inuyasha movie, but I haven't watched it yet. There's also a few random valuable things like how someone uploaded the entire library of Bumpworthy (which of course I immediately downloaded haha).

I downloaded most of the recordings I could find (still probably a whole lot left to download), but I haven't watched them all yet. The only ones I watched so far was a boondocks recording from 2005 and I remember one of the bumps being the AS transit map bump, another recording had the classic "everyone out of the pool" bumps, and another one I remember had a bump I didn't recognize, with a stuffed bear in a hockey mask holding a sign with jazz music in the background in some room. Those are the only that I remember sticking out to me in the ones I watched, but there probably more, but not many AcTN ones, if at all though. At least I haven't seen any in the ones I downloaded.

I'll try to follow up after I watch through all of these, if I see anything else. I would still recommend trying to get onto there, there's some gems on there if you look hard enough.

Yeah I think those recordings with the Inuyasha Movies are on Internet Archive.  On there there is...

Inuyasha Movie 1 day on 5/21/05 which has Toonami One Piece, etc.  Then for [as] has

*part of a Futurama episode (has Advisory and Futurama intro bump with Fry's Head outline)

*The 2nd Samurai Champloo episode (has the 4 Samurai Champloo bumps on there except that the Blue one with Jin has the song from Don't Even Try to Read this.  It is NOT uploaded to Bumpworthy.  It must have not aired very long as when the May 2005 AcTN bumps came out they changed the song to the laid back one that is on bumpworthy)

*Inuyasha movie 1 (Has all tokyo bumps, This might have been the last time they all aired. On May 28, 2005 the 10 second AcTN bumps came out like Atom Bomb and Horse, AcTN Owl, Crane Head, etc.)

Inuyasha Movie 2 day 8/27/05 - Also starts the recording with Toonami stuff.  The AS stuff includes...

*Futurama episode (Has Advisory and all 4 of the old futurama bumps. Outline of benders head, Outline of Frys head, Bender Shadow, Evil Bender)

*Inuyasha episode (Inuyasha Dog bark, AcTN Spiral and 1 handed guy, AcTN Spread, Fun4Adults Red Pac Man)

*Inuyasha movie 2 (has it's own bumps saying Inuyasha Movie 2 will begin, will return, etc.  None of them are on bumpworthy.  They all have the Crane Head Version 2 song)

A recording of Case Closed Richards Class Reunion part 1 that aired at 5:30 AM in the Summer 2005 (has Open Wide to Swim, Dawn is your enemy, etc)

Family Guy episode Peter Peter Caviar Eater (Has text bumps and that one with the bear and the mask you mentioned)
