Title: Internet Explorer Search provider for BumpWorthy!
Post by: Diego Gonzalez on October 01, 2010, 11:14:09 PM
Hey guys look what I did  :-P
http://tinypic.com?ref=2cmvg3b (http://tinypic.com?ref=2cmvg3b)

I got tired of having to go all the way to BumpWorthy just to use their search box and made a provider for IE8!

You can do it too by following these instructions:

1. Head toward the search box in IE8 and click the arrow next to the search button.
2. Click "Manage Search Providers"
3. At the bottom of the box that appears, click "Find More Search Providers".
4. Another window will appear. Scroll to the bottom of the web page and look for a link that says "Create your own Search Provider". Click it.
5. In the box that says "URL", type this exactly: http://www.bumpworthy.com/?m=browse&s=TEST
6. In the box that says Name, type the name you want for the BumpWorthy Search Provider. I put BumpWorthy Search.
7. Don't worry about the scroll down box. Just leave everything else and click the "Install Search Provider" button.
8. You will receive a confirmation. Click "Add".

Ta-Da! You're all done! Enjoy! :-D I hope this makes searching bumpworthy a bit more convenient.

Very nice!  Thanks for the guide.

Something similar can be done for Firefox users:

1.  Go to the main page (http://www.bumpworthy.com/).
2.  Right click the Search box.   Select "Add a Keyword for this Search..."
3.  Fill out the three fields as you like.  The first two don't matter so much.  The most important one is the last one, which is the keyword you'll be using to initiate a search.
4.  Click Save.

Now you can use the URL input box to search bumps.

For example, I used the word "bump" as my keyword in step 3 above.  Let's say I want to search for bumps regarding Tokyo.  I can simply enter the following into the URL input box to do so:

bump tokyo

.. and the results will come up on the page!
