the other submissions are from me I had some old bumps on VHS so i just plugged the RCA's into my TV tuner card and ripped em for Crabs when the site first opened I still have some Cowboy Bebop tokyo bumps

well i have 3 more tokyo cowboy bebop bumps and 1 tokyo big O bump thats all I can think of. And www.asfdotcom.net has all of the old skool adult swim bumps in 1 file.
I would like to see the "Kill your feet! They're trying to take you away from us." bump that aired a little while ago after the back-to-back Harvey Birdman episodes.
An old favorite I'd like to see are the Big O bumps with the giant horizontal letter O flying over Tokyo like a UFO. The camera zooms in on the O and the [adult swim] logo appears on it and you hear "BIIG OOOO".
One of these days I'll dig through my archives and see if I can find any bumps. If I find any I'll send them to you. Just don't expect anything anytime soon.

This is mostly for Qman, but for fans of the old school stuff I got my hands on the ASF old bumps files (2001 hodgepodge and 2003 hodgepodge, original AcTN intro, original Comedy intro and 2003 intro) so I'll re-encode it and splice the hodgepodges for simplicity's sake. (By the way, Beefy, if you have the source video that'd be awesome, since transcoding from one compressed format to another causes quality loss... no idea how severe in this case though). Kill Your Feet bump would be awesome, as would be that [as] weather bump (text on blue screen, shown before Boondocks a few times).

If there's still stuff missing I have some old tapes (boxes... and more boxes....) but I'd need an approximate date to look through. I'm not sure what I taped or when. I'm not experienced at editing or transfer and frankly my tapes aren't all that great but my old boss used to tell me "... a bad image is better than no image". I guess I'm saying my stuff would be a last resort.... :oops:
Okay I'll transcode em now to see how they end up (the mixed file's quality is quite nice, so I think it shouldn't be a problem) and post back.

Nope, no warnings during 2nd Gig (believe me, I'm a huge Ghost in the Shell freak :lol: ) The warning is for episode 10 of Stand Alone Compledx. It was sort of like the same thing, something like "Due to the extreme violence in this episode, viewer discretion is advised"... no biggie, but it won't show in a while I think. ASF has a few. A few I can think of are:
the original line-up card (it's on the ASF site as ASA original line-up(?))
the Yu Yu Hakusho breaker with Koenma pouncing on Yusuke
the Mobile Suit Gundam breaker with the RX-78 "Shoot!"(?)
and also the late 2002 line-up card with 11:00 Inuyasha, 11:30 Yu Yu Hakusho, 12:00 Cowboy Bebop, 12:30 Gundam 0083, 1:00 Mobile Suit Gundam, 1:30 Outlaw Star (I have yet to see this bumper posted on any download site)

Okay, I found the one I thought you were talking about and I also found another one with a docked trailer. However, my DVD drive suddenly got particular about what media it reads so I'm either going to have to re-record them from VHS (This is the part where I warn you about the poor quality of my analog cable) or try installing a new drive :-P One way or another I'll get them up!

The Laughingboy bump is completely totally SWEET! Thanx for the comments on the Truckin bump!! I mailed Crab to see if it's possible to skip re-encoding bumps already on XViD/DiVX, since that'd be a step forward, since encoding lossy format to another lossy format worsens the situation.
You think you'll be able to do anything with that raw video I sent you? I've got another half dozen waiting.... :?

This is sort of off-topic, but relating to the last few posts..
Quality is a big issue for me, in both the Flash player and the downloads. I am a perfectionist at heart and it urks me to see anything poor quality here. Hell, in the past I've been hesitant to publish bumps that had even the slightest bit of timing error in the audio.
Trust me, I take the quality issue very seriously and I will do the best I can to make sure things look good. On my end, pretty much all I can do is make sure that the re-encoding process doesn't throw away too much detail in the bumps. I am aware of a couple issues in the live bumps that need to be fixed. However, I am limited in resources (CPU resources, that is) with my webhost. I am trying to work with what they give me and produce the best quality that I can, and you can expect to see some improvements in quality in the future.
Sure thing, dude! You certainly do a kick-ass job around here, that's undoubted! We're just trying to use doctoring tools to remedy the raw files from Numy here, to try to make em looks the best they can with (anthemic 80s music please...) modern technology (!, thundering echo...) since they're transfers from older recordings. If you know of anything that'd help for like improving image quality and stuff, fell free to pitch in!
Yeah, I'm glad you all are working on it from the users' side. I understand that's what you're doing and appreciate it. The higher quality input you give me, the better I can make them look on the site.
As far as improving quality, if you can't use a still-image or find one (like the Truckin' one you re-did), then you just need to mess around with your encoder's settings (obviously, you know that). But what to use? Well, one of the best quality settings I've found in the past is a 2- or 3-pass VBR encoding with DivX, making sure you have it set for quality instead of speed. It will take a bit longer, but that should be a negligable and acceptable sacrifice, especially since most of the bumps are very short (time-wise). However, if you're using a program like Windows Movie Maker or the like, I can't offer any help.
Well if anyone supplies me with some High quality Image Caps and audio, I can After Effects most of them to make some nice looking bumps.
I'll be really busy most of this weekend, but feel free to send them anyway.

MrHang didn't have anything on it, but he did point out that the Sunday bumps back then were primarily library tracks so it's quite possible it's going to be unavailable. :( On the other hand, we've actually managed to locate a number of those during the last three years so I may be able to tell you where you can listen to it. :wink:

Hey guys, i'm a massive adulit swim fan and there's a really cool bumper that i just can't find anywhere. it has some latin jazz-like music playing throughout, while displaying what looks like some kind of hotel in yellowish night lighting. there's a (rubbish) screenshot that i have attatched that will hopefully help, i had a video taken with my phone but it was too large to upload. if anyone could provide a link or music detaills that would be really helpful!!

Hi I'm not sure if this was a bump, but more like a background on the adultswim website. They usually change them often, but I found this one that I had on my background for a while, but I accidentally deleted it. It was a puppy laying down/sleeping and it had two little skulls as eyes and it said "The hurt is forever" in tiny letters at the bottom. Yeah, it seems like they brought bact the ACTN logo, and have transportation as the theme. Plus they are the same visual style as the Atlanta stills series (TBS building, owls only, etc.)

Sadly, no. "Kill Your Feet" is one we really need. Boondocks weather forecast, I don't remember what that one looked like.

The Boondocks one is from circa March 2006 too... Does anyone remember the bump where Adult Swim tore MTV a new asshole? Something about how they devalue music and convince people to think that petty things are more important than anything else? I wish for the life of me that I could remember what was actually said, but I can only remember the gist of it (ie., tearing MTV a new asshole). Yeah, it wouldn't get past the uploader because it turned out huge (20mb). The static really buffs up the video size, since there's a lot to render. Still, I can upload on rapidshare or megaupload or something like that if you wish, since I did cap it :-D.

I don't remember that one. Lately AS likes to take their 30 second promos and have the first 23 or so seconds for one show, then have the rest of the time for a different show.
If you remember what show the first part of the promo is for it might help us track it down.
It was one of those "Never Before Seen" King of the Hill promos with the blue-flamed burner, for the episode where there's a big storm and they tear down the house across the street.
I don't have it then.
I don't capture promos for single episodes, unless they're the first episode of a new season.

I was aware of the Spooky_chan bump some time ago, not sure I had the date before or not but it should've been easy to look up on the ASMB. Anyway, I didn't find it here then either and we didn't have as many bumps at the time. I've also just been looking up the ones I know we have from that night and numerically they span at least 80 bumps (around #200 - 280) - I have a feeling we weren't in the habit of uploading the b&w cards without a request just yet. Mongo had only recently been granted mod-hood and I know for certain two of the bumps that night were by request. It's possible it only aired the one night as well - I know the open bump from that night that we have was taken from a weeknight. I think it was just a confused time for us.

okay let me rephrase that - (I'm not quite awake :-P my communication skills are questionable when I'm fully conscious) I wasn't sure it was going to survive the encoder with any better results than mongo's original (that is a rare occurrence.) So I went ahead and tested it out. Now that we know it's better I was waiting to see what the consensus was on the deletion since the original hasn't been up very long and I didn't know if it was worth a redirect like all the vintage remasters. Even though I supplied a couple of those files mongo handled all the uploading and crab did all the redirecting so I didn't quite follow the protocol for the process. Until that's resolved they're both staying live.

I'm having trouble keeping up these days but that's my best guess :roll:
I'd like to let everyone know that I'm taping the SD versions of the bumps and they're going to be here eventually. There have been over 100 new bumps in the past two weeks and I haven't been able to encode, since both encoding and recording are really time consuming and I don't trust my PC enough to try doing both at the same time (tends to lock up/BSoD on memory intensive tasks). They are recorded, however, and I intend to get to them soon.

Turns out I just searched "Owl" and couldn't find it among the others because it didn't have "Owl" as a tag. But it did have "Owls" hahaha oh well.

Well if I ever get my power back on :-P I think it's time to reexamine the tags and search feature.
it used to be that clicking on a singular tag (owl) it would also return ANYTHING that contained "owl" not only adding the plural ' owls' but also bowl, scowl, ... Ok, not the best example. My biggest problem word was ' car ' which could potentially return car, cars, cart, cartoon, scar, escargot, iscariot, care, careful, carrot, carry, scary, carnivorous, carnage, carrion, carly, ...etc. etc. etc. SO it was standard practice to delete singular forms in favor of plural forms. Compounded by the fact that the search now only returns the first fifty results but clicking tags returns all tagged items, well, it's just time for a second look. The search is actually greatly improved. For grins and giggles I searched '- sd' and was amazed that it returned exactly the bumps I needed.

2. I'm not sure if it was shown on this season's ASYNW (It was actually when it was still either ATHF or AUPS1)

EDIT: 4. The bumper says that ATHF had 110 episodes (while there are currently 122 episodes) and as this season (ASYKW) consists of 12 episodes and 122 - 110 = 12. That would place this commercial between the final episode of season 8 and the first episode of season 9. xDEDIT-2: Oh wait, I just realized that I am talking about a totally different bump than yours. (you can still check out the bump I was referring to so you know why I was mistaken :D)
